centre news 2004

The last day of the old year was spent thoroughly cleaning the Zen Centre. 2005 New Year's day saw a small ceremony and a talk by Eshin on true peace and harmony. There then followed the traditional potluck lunch.

The fourth and last sesshin of 2004 was held in November. Eleven people sat through the winter weather as a solid focused group. Many helped with the responsibilities - Brent and Gareth as jikis; Stuart and Peggy as shojis; Myorei, Brad, Carlo and Chris rotating tenzo duties. Here's the pictures -

The Zen Centre started because of a visit to Vancouver from Joshu Sasaki Roshi many, many years ago. Over the years many of our members have travelled south to do sesshin and/or training under his guidance. He is still going at ninety-eight years old. Schedules and details can be found at Mt Baldy Zen Center's web site.
