Brad Warner joined the zendo on the 15 November. Brad and Eshin held a dialogue on Zen for an hour. There was a large, lively sangha turnout.

The annual Buddha's Birthday ceremony and potluck was held on April 11. Everyone at this colourful and festive ceremony enjoyed the chanting and bathing the statue. This was followed by a talk from Eshin explaining our true nature as standing between earth and heaven as symbolized by the statue. Folks later mixed in a warm and friendly atmosphere, eating and enthusing on the delicious food. Adults then relaxed and conversed while children played energetically.

MeetUp, an organization that introduces people to meditation, was hosted on 23 February. Many came to hear Eshin explain Buddhism and Zen, and give intruction in zazen. The group was receptive and discussions spontaneously started about meditation styles. Both sides agreed the evening had been productive and helpful.

The February sesshin started with eight people. Carlo and Chris joined from out of town. Unfortunately Klare developed a toothache and had to leave. The experienced sitters made for a solid sesshin.

The Zen Centre held its AGM in early February. Rory, Stephane and Fred joined Eshin, Myorei, E'cho and Ian as directors. The directors, in addition to day to day administration, will hold open quarterly meetings to review the centre.
