Buddha's Birthday Ceremony and Potluck Lunch
April 11th 2009
The centres largest gathering of the year was colourful, as usual, thanks to Myorei, Elsie and Elizabeths flower preparations. Many people arrived with a wonderfully delicious selection of food. During the ceremony everyone delved into chanting and delighted in pouring tea on the baby Buddha statue. This was followed by Eshin's talk on the statue pointing to both earth and heaven and his koans of springing up from earth and raining down from heaven. Eshin continued talking on our true nature being between and embracing both self and no-self, form and emptiness. The following potluck was warm and friendly with the children playing energetically together.
